--------------------------- Dorothy A. Mozart Commanding Officer Stardate 49901.26 "The Reception" --------------------------- Once Mozart had donned her dress uniform and decided that this new design was much, much better than the old one - not to mention more comfortable - she boarded the turbolift and waited for it to descend to deck five. She was pleasantly surprised when she entered the crowded observation lounge, heard the music play and even saw a couple of people dance. The mood was cheerful and most of the people seemed to be enjoying themselves, most of them making new acquaintances and here and there she saw groups of officers from the same departments apparently engaged in more serious conversations. The noise level dropped only slightly when people began to notice that she had entered and she quickly turned towards her First Officer who had entered shortly after her. This was not the time to hold another speech, and she definitely didn't want to interrupt the pleasant, somewhat informal atmosphere. It was now that she spotted Shikara at the other end of the room, apparently searching for someone. They had only met briefly before, so she excused herself from Stevens and began to walk across the room toward her Chief Science Officer. <> <> ------------------------- Capt. Dorothy A.
