Born into a family of privateers and smugglers, Braht inherited charge of a
flotilla of small raiding ships at an early age after altercations with a
vulcan trading vessel, which resulted in the death of his father.
Spurred to deeds of wild treachery by the stupidity of youth, he was
sentenced to life for the slaughter of a community of monks on a deep space
station.
Having served 5 years of his sentence fighting the sytem he was converted to
the Elim brotherhood by a survivor of his earlier assault.
His ways changed, and he determined to make the most of his life and began
to study, achieving degrees in Biology, Xenobiology and a doctorate in
Botany.
After hearing the call for flight trained scientific staff ready to engage
in the struggle with the Dominion Braht requested permission to be paroled
to starfleet, and recieved his commision as Botanics officer, rank ensign.
Braht's psyche evaluation considered him a stable case, his previous
psychotic tendencies having been dealt with in intense counselling sessions
at the Norek correctional facility. His loathing of vulcans is checked by
his religious observance, and his character is strangely calm for a klingon.
